Abstract:
The R-module Thom spectrum functor was defined by Ando, Blumberg,
Gepner, Hopkins, and Rezk in the context of orientations on the R-module
Thom spectrum. We view the construction from the point of view of
structured ring spectra showing that the functor has good monoidal
properties. These results allow us to construct A_\infty R-algebra
structures on various quotients, and compute their Topological
Hochschild homology.
