Topic: So, what is a derived functor?

Abstract:
In the context of infinity categories, we rethink the notion of derived functor in terms of
correspondences. Derived functors in our sense, when exist,
are given by a Kan extension, but their existence is a
strictly stronger property than that of existence of Kan extensions.
Our definition is especially convenient for the description
of a passage from an adjoint pair of functors to the respective
derived adjoint pair. Canonicity of this passage becomes obvious.
