U. Haifa Topology & Geometry seminar: Wednesday, January 21, 2026, 13:00. Speaker: Anton Khoroshkin (Haifa). Title: “On the topology and cohomology of generalized configuration spaces”.
The configuration space Confn(X) consists of ordered n-tuples of pairwise distinct points in a topological space X. This notion can be generalized by allowing certain points to collide while requiring others to remain distinct. More precisely, given a simple connected graph Γ on n vertices, we consider collections of points in X indexed by the vertices of Γ, with the condition that points corresponding to adjacent vertices must be distinct. The resulting space is known under various names, including partial, chromatic, graphical, or generalized configuration space. In this talk, I will outline several results on the topology, cohomology, and rational homotopy type of these configuration spaces, and discuss the operad-type algebraic structures that arise naturally in this context. The talk is based on the joint work with Denis Lyskov
