Abstract
Conway’s surreal numbers arose from the study of combinatorial games. More recently connections with transseries opened the way to applications to asymptotic analysis. We illustrate the latter aspect through a problem of Skolem concerning a class of exponential functions (joint work with Marcello Mamino).
