Fundamental properties of the rational homotopy groups of algebraic K-theory have been understood since Waldhausen. From the chromatic point of view, the rational homotopy groups are just the height-0 case of the more general concept of v_n-periodic homotopy groups. In joint work with Land, Mathew and Tamme we could recently show analogues of Waldhausen&#8217;s results for these v_n-periodic homotopy groups.&nbsp;In this talk I will give an introduction to these results and how the interplay between stable and unstable v_n-periodic homotopy groups is a crucial ingredient<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A recording of the talk is available here.
